Job summary

UNC Health Nash is seeking a detail-oriented scheduling professional to manage infusion appointments for patients with chronic and acute conditions. You will coordinate with clinicians, pharmacy, and administrative staff to ensure timely, safe infusion care and accurate documentation.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of medical scheduling experience, familiarity with infusion protocols, and strong communication skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in medical scheduling, preferably infusion/oncology.
• Familiarity with infusion protocols, biologics, and specialty medications.
• Proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., Epic) and scheduling software.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients, families, and staff in scheduling infusion appointments in accordance with policies.
• Coordinate and schedule infusion appointments based on treatment protocols and availability.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and navigators for timely scheduling of multi-step infusions.
• Verify insurance authorization prior to scheduling.
• Document scheduling activities in the EHR and scheduling systems.
• Serve as liaison to resolve scheduling conflicts and barriers to care.
