Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Specialty Pharmacy Technician to support prescription order entry and filling for specialty and infusion medications.

The role involves managing patient caseloads, communicating with patients, referral sources, and payers, and obtaining insurer authorization as needed. Under pharmacist supervision, the technician will prepare sterile medications using aseptic techniques, document accurately, and assist with IV compounding, labeling, and inventory

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Active registration status with state Board of Pharmacy (PA NJ) preferred upon hire.
• Two years infusion or specialty pharmacy experience requested.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties under the direction of the pharmacist and assists in filling prescription items as allowed by the state board.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and follow-up skills with patients, referral sources, and payers.
• Notifies patients and physician offices of prescription status in a timely manner; resolves issues as needed.
• Compounds medications per physician prescriptions and prepares sterile IV products using aseptic technique.
• Maintains accurate documentation, orders, and inventory; uses pharmacy computer systems for order entry and labeling.
