Job summary

Pullman Regional Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse for Same Day Services - Infusions. This role focuses on coordination and delivery of outpatient infusion therapy within a collaborative Same Day Services nursing team in Washington state.

The RN will provide safe, high‑quality, patient‑centered care, using standing orders and protocols, and will participate in weekday operations as needed for department flow and patient experience.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in good standing in the State of Washington.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at time of hire and maintained.
• Active Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification at time of hire and maintained.
• Active Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification at time of hire and maintained.
• Demonstrates the technical and clinical skills required of a Registered Nurse in an outpatient infusion and Same Day Services setting.
• Ability to recognize, assess, and respond to infusion-related adverse events and medical emergencies.
• Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Ability to practice independently using standing orders and escalation pathways while remaining highly collaborative.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Knowledge of infection prevention, medication safety, and quality improvement principles.
• Demonstrates adaptability, professionalism, and a team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to support multiple Same Day Services workflows as needed based on competency.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for patients across Same Day Services, with a primary emphasis on infusion therapy.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments to support infusion care and workflows.
• Safely administer infusion therapies, including biologics, antibiotics, blood products, hydration, iron, injections, and specialty medications.
• Initiate, access, maintain, and discontinue IVs and central venous access devices within scope of practice.
• Continuously monitor patients during and after infusions for adverse reactions.
• Provide patient and family education related to infusion therapy and follow-up care.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, medications, and education in the EMR.
• Participate in weekday Same Day Services operations when not scheduled for weekend coverage.
• Balance independent clinical practice with collaboration across the interdisciplinary team.
• Communicate effectively with providers, pharmacy, and care coordination to ensure continuity of care.
