Job summary

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician III, Infusion to provide high-level technical support to pharmacy operations under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Responsibilities include sterile and non-sterile compounding of hazardous drugs, coordinating sterile compounding operations, maintaining inventory, and training staff while ensuring compliance with USP standards and institutional policies.

Qualifications

• The position requires a high school diploma or enrollment in an accredited entry-level degree program for Pharmacy or related field.
• Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy Registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) is required; if ExCPT, PTCB must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• At least 5 years of pharmacy technician experience, including sterile and hazardous compounding.

Responsibilities

• Fills medication orders according to policy and policies.
• Maintains inventory, stocking, rotation, and exp date checking.
• Performs quality control steps for safety and regulatory requirements.
• Performs cleansing of sterile and non-sterile areas.
• Trains and orients staff; develops training documentation.
• Coordinates sterile compounding operations and cross-covers locations as needed.
• Performs sterile and non-sterile compounding of hazardous drugs per USP standards.
• Provides downtime support for ADS and manages inventory levels.
