Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy.
• 3 years of hospital pharmacy, ambulatory care, sterile compounding experience or 5 years retail pharmacy experience with 2 years oncology experience required.
• Or completion of a PGY1 residency.
• Must be licensed to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

• Oversees preparation and compounding, order verification, and dispensing of pharmaceuticals.
• Optimizes drug therapy by identifying, resolving, and preventing drug-related problems.
• Ensures compliance with federal/state regulations and Joint Commission standards.
• Evaluates medication orders for completeness and appropriateness prior to dispensing.
• Performs quality control on orders and prepared medications and maintains logs and inventories.
• Oversees pharmacy staff and participates in training of new staff.
• Participates in ongoing special projects and operational improvements.
• Works in oncology/sterile compounding with exposure to hazardous materials.
• Rotating shifts as required.
