Job summary

Option Care Health, Inc. seeks a Pharmacist Technician I to work under a licensed Pharmacist in a clean room, performing compounding of medications at least 50% of the time to support safe, accurate operations.

Responsibilities include assisting with preparation and dispensing, calculating dosages, labeling, documenting logs, and maintaining clean work surfaces. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
• Must be licensed or registered (if required by the state).
• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.
• Able to perform basic & intermediate mathematical calculations.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Basic level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: opening a document, cutting, pasting, and aligning text).
• Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: formatting cells as currency, sorting, and printing).
• Basic skill level in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: editing text, slides, and printing).

Responsibilities

• Assists pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with policies & procedures and state standards.
• Prepares medications so they are accurately compounded.
• Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct dosages.
• Accurately labels and packages medications.
• Participates in assessing, managing, and reporting medication incidents.
• Ensures pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods are cleaned and sanitized.
• Inspects equipment and documents any failures or defects.
• Maintains pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs.
