Infusion Pharmacy in Schaumburg, IL is seeking a Director of Pharmacy Operations to oversee day-to-day Infusion Pharmacy services, ensuring safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance across locations.

You will supervise pharmacy staff, monitor KPIs, support budgeting and forecasting, and drive process improvements. The role collaborates with providers, nursing and clinical leadership to enhance patient access, adherence, and outcomes; occasional travel between locations is required.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
  • Current Illinois Pharmacist License in good standing required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of pharmacist experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership experience within specialty pharmacy, infusion pharmacy, ambulatory pharmacy, or related healthcare operations required.
  • Experience supervising leaders, pharmacists, and/or pharmacy technicians preferred.
  • Experience with pharmacy financial management, reimbursement optimization, medication access programs, and operational improvement initiatives preferred.
  • Experience supporting clinical research programs, investigational drug services, or infusion-based therapies preferred.
  • Must be willing to travel in between locations as needed.

  • Supervise pharmacy staff to achieve operational, quality, financial, and service excellence goals.
  • Monitor KPIs, including therapy starts, turnaround times, patient satisfaction, adherence, and productivity; elevate trends to Director of Pharmacy.
  • Support and maintain policies, procedures, and workflows ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to process improvement and workflow optimization initiatives.
  • Partner with Finance and pharmacy leadership to support revenue and margin performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and cost management.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Use data and reporting to support operational decisions.
  • Directly supervise staff, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, staff development, and employee engagement.
  • Foster accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, accreditation standards, payer requirements, and policies.

Job description

  • Identify and help implement opportunities to improve operational efficiency and cost management.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Use data and reporting to support operational decisions.
  • Directly supervise pharmacy staff, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, staff development, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, accreditation standards, payer requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Oversee compliance related to sterile compounding, medication handling, storage, and dispensing.
  • Support inspections, accreditation surveys, audits, and corrective action plans.
  • Support initiatives improving patient access, safety, adherence, clinical outcomes, and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with providers, nursing teams, and clinical leaders on medication management initiatives.
  • Support operational oversight for investigational drug and clinical research pharmacy services.
  • Participate in committees and interdisciplinary workgroups.
  • Build relationships with providers, operational leaders, payers, manufacturers, and external partners.
  • Support implementation of new pharmacy programs, therapies, and initiatives.
  • Report to the Director of Pharmacy.
Requirements
