Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is a full-service teaching hospital and Level I trauma center in Sunset Park. We invite applicants for a PCC Infusion Registered Nurse role requiring Oncology OR infusion experience. The RN delivers care to groups of patients, collaborating with the health team using the nursing process.

Responsibilities include medication administration, documentation, patient education, discharge planning, and ensuring safety and quality in line with National Patient Safety Goals.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program.
• Registered Nurse License-NYS.
• BLS Certification through the American Heart Association.
• Oncology OR infusion experience preferred/required.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing care and outcomes for assigned patients per the nursing process in collaboration with the health team.
• Documents patient assessment and progress accurately and timely.
• Promotes patient safety and quality following organizational goals.
• Communicates effectively with health care team; escalates as needed.
• Establishes caring relationships with patients, families and staff.
• Administers medications and parenteral therapy per policy, including blood products.
• Sets priorities for patient care and coordinates care independently or with delegation.
• Provides patient/family education and assists in discharge planning.
• Demonstrates knowledge to provide care based on age, safety and psychosocial needs.
