The RN uses the nursing process to collect pertinent patient information needed to determine physical and psychological needs, address and identify health problems, performs selected treatments and chemotherapy, diagnostic procedures and routine duties. Direct patient care is provided to adult and geriatric patients.

This full-time, day shift role at Baptist Health supports a collaborative healthcare team and requires current KY RN license; BSN preferred; chemotherapy/biotherapy certification

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required; BSN preferred.
• Active Kentucky Registered Nurse license is required.
• Minimum 1 year Med-Surg or ED experience; oncology experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.
• Oncology nursing certification is preferred.
• Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification should be obtained preferably during orientation or within 6 months before administering chemotherapy.

Responsabilités

• Assess and document patient status, including labs and tests, and explain chemotherapy and planned treatments.
• Provide care according to policy, procedure, and oncology nursing guidelines.
• Educate patients on care and symptom management.
• Evaluate patient response to therapy.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure safe, effective patient care.
• Demonstrate organizational and leadership skills.
