Job summary

Metro Infusion Center, affiliated with Metro Infectious Disease Consultants, is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner for supervision and administration of infusion therapy at the Howell, MI clinic. The position is on a 3 days/week basis (24 hours weekly): Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.

The role requires IV placement, infusion preparation, charting in the EMR, and patient education within the NP scope. Candidates should have a valid APRN license and at least two years of NP office experience,

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Valid APRN license.
• At least 2 years NP office practice experience.
• Infusion experience.
• Chemo experience is preferred, but not required.
• Vaccinations up to date including boosters for immunocompromised patients.

Responsibilities

• Place and maintain peripheral IV catheters for infusion therapy with ongoing assessment of IV site.
• Prepare medication for IV administration as ordered.
• Administer IV therapy via electronic pump or gravity/dial-a-flow tubing.
• Document infusion charting and patient messages in EMR.
• Address questions on adverse effects/diagnosis/treatment within NP scope.
• Apply clinical judgment to evaluate patient care needs and establish priorities.
• Monitor safety of environment and equipment.
• Maintain good interpersonal communications with facility.
• Cover clinic as needed per direction of Manager of Clinical Operations.
• Observe Standards of Nursing Practice; MIDC policies and laws.
• Other duties as assigned.

Metro Infusion Center (Affiliated with Metro Infectious Disease Consultants) is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner for supervision and administration of infusion therapy on a 3 Days/week basis to work at the clinic located in Howell, MI.

Schedule: 3 days/week (24 hrs/week): Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Specific Duties:

• Place and maintain peripheral IV catheters for infusion therapy needs with ongoing assessment of IV site.
• Prepare medication for IV administration as ordered.
• Administer IV therapy via electronic pump with troubleshooting of pump alarms and/or administration via gravity/dial-a-flow tubing.
• Document infusion charting and patient message(s) in EMR system.
• Addressing patient’s questions or concerns related to adverse effects/side effects, diagnosis, treatment etc. within scope of Mid-level provider.
• Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs establishing priorities.
• Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
• Participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with facility.
• Agree to cover any clinic as needed per direction of the Manager of Clinical Operations.
• Supports professional practice by observing the following: Uses knowledge and practices in accordance with 1) Standards of Nursing Practice; 2) JCAHO, state and local laws; 3) MIDC policy.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned

• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19.
