Job summary

Metro Infusion Center, affiliated with Metro Infectious Disease Consultants, seeks a licensed Nurse Practitioner to supervise and administer infusion therapy at the Howell, MI clinic. Schedule is 24 hours per week across Tue, Wed, Thu, with IV therapy management and EMR documentation.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, valid APRN licensure, and at least two years of NP office experience, infusion preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Valid APRN license.
• At least two years NP office practice experience, preferably infusion.
• Infusion experience.
• Chemo experience preferred.
• Vaccinations up to date for immunocompromised patients (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, COVID-19).

Responsibilities

• Place and maintain peripheral IV catheters for infusion therapy with ongoing IV site assessment.
• Prepare medication for IV administration as ordered.
• Administer IV therapy via electronic pump and troubleshoot alarms.
• Document infusion charting and patient messages in the EMR.
• Address questions on adverse effects, diagnosis, and treatment within the NP scope.
• Use clinical judgment to meet patient care needs and establish priorities.
• Monitor safety and effectiveness of environment and equipment.
• Foster good interpersonal communications with the facility.
• Cover clinic as needed per Manager of Clinical Operations direction.
• Adhere to applicable standards and MIDC policies.

Metro Infusion Center (Affiliated with Metro Infectious Disease Consultants) is seeking a licensedNurse Practitioner for supervision and administration of infusion therapy on a 3 Days/week basis to work at the clinic located in Howell, MI.

Schedule: 3 days/week (24 hrs/week): Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Specific Duties:

• Place and maintain peripheral IV catheters for infusion therapy needs with ongoing assessment of IV site.

• Prepare medication for IV administration as ordered.

• Administer IV therapy via electronic pump with troubleshooting of pump alarms and/or administration via gravity/dial-a-flow tubing.

• Document infusion charting and patient message(s) in EMR system.

• Addressing patient’s questions or concerns related to adverse effects/side effects, diagnosis, treatment etc. within scope of Mid-level provider.

• Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs establishing priorities.

• Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.

• Participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with facility.

• Agree to cover any clinic as needed per direction of the Manager of Clinical Operations.

• Supports professional practice by observing the following: Uses knowledge and practices in accordance with 1) Standards of Nursing Practice; 2) JCAHO, state and local laws; 3) MIDC policy.

  • At least (2) two years NP office practice experience, preferably in an infusion-related practice
  • Infusion experience
  • Chemo experience is preferred, but not required
  • Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19.
