Job summary

Metro Infectious Disease Consultants seeks an Infusion Nurse Practitioner to work every other weekend at the Macomb, MI clinic. Schedule is 26 weekends per year, including two holidays. The role requires APRN licensure, infusion experience, and 2+ years in NP office practice; chemo experience preferred.

Responsibilities include placing IVs, preparing and administering IV therapy, EMR documentation, and ensuring patient safety and effective care settings. Competitive hourly pay around $65.

Qualifications

• Infusion nursing experience with IV catheter placement and management.

• Minimum 2 years NP office practice experience.
• Infusion-related practice preferred; chemotherapy experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Place and maintain peripheral IV catheters for infusion therapy.
• Prepare IV medications and administer via infusion pump or gravity lines.
• Document infusion care in EMR and address patient questions within scope.
• Monitor safety, environment, and equipment; ensure good communication with the facility.
• Cover clinics as needed per Manager of Clinical Operations guidance.

Metro Infectious Disease Consultants is seeking an Infusion Nurse Practitioner to work every other weekend at the clinic located in Macomb, MI.

Schedule: Every other weekend - 26 weekends a year that includes 2 holidays (plus the holiday weekend)

Specific Duties:

• Place and maintain peripheral IV catheters for infusion therapy needs with ongoing assessment of IV site.
• Prepare medication for IV administration as ordered.
• Administer IV therapy via electronic pump with troubleshooting of pump alarms and/or administration via gravity/dial-a-flow tubing.
• Document infusion charting and patient message(s) in EMR system.
• Addressing patient’s questions or concerns related to adverse effects/side effects, diagnosis, treatment etc. within scope of Mid-level provider.
• Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs establishing priorities.
• Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
• Participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with facility.
• Agree to cover any clinic as needed per direction of the Manager of Clinical Operations.
• Supports professional practice by observing the following: Uses knowledge and practices in accordance with 1) Standards of Nursing Practice; 2) JCAHO, state and local laws; 3) MIDC policy.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Valid APRN
• At least (2) two years NP office practice experience, preferably in an infusion-related practice
• Infusion experience
• Chemo experience is preferred, but not required
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19.
