Job summary

GI Alliance is seeking an experienced Infusion Intake Specialist II to process infusion service orders and verify patient benefits for payment. You will handle prior authorizations, coordinate with insurers, and assist patients with copay programs, while ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong communication, familiarity with MS Office, and a solid understanding of healthcare plans. A High School diploma is required; an associate degree is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
  • Experience in infusion intake or related intake roles is preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare plans, CPT/ICD-10 terminology helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Review physician infusion orders and process them for payment.
  • Verify patient benefits and leverage hub programs as needed.
  • Determine buy & bill vs Specialty Pharmacy pathways where appropriate.
  • Assist with foundation copay programs and reimbursement eligibility.
  • Collect foundation copay card information after approval.
  • Obtain prior authorization by contacting insurers and submitting forms/records.
  • Submit paperwork and patient data when Specialty Pharmacy is used.
  • Follow up on claim payments and denials related to authorization/coverage.
  • Communicate patient financial info with billing staff efficiently.
  • Explain deductibles, copays, and coverage options to patients.
  • Escalate roadblocks to timely verification and payment processing.
  • Deliver quality service to patients and adhere to regulations.
