Job summary

Peyton Resource Group is seeking experienced Infrastructure Technicians - Tech 2 & Tech 3 to join a growing team supporting structured cabling, telecommunications, low-voltage, and data center infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years in telecom or low-voltage, with Cat5e/6/6A and fiber knowledge; Tech 3 leads teams and mentors junior technicians, ensuring safe, high-quality installations.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of hands-on telecom, structured cabling, or low-voltage experience.
• Experience with Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, Ethernet, and fiber/copper systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, construction drawings, cabling diagrams, and project specs.
• Experience leading field technicians or installation teams.
• BICSI/FOA or similar certifications preferred; OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, service, and decommission cabling systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
• Install and organize racks, cabinets, cable trays, pathways, and related infrastructure.
• Mentor junior technicians and lead field installation teams.
• Troubleshoot field issues and ensure safety and quality from start to finish.

We’re looking for experienced Infrastructure Technicians - Tech 2 & Tech 3 to join a growing technical team supporting structured cabling, telecommunications, low-voltage, and data center infrastructure.

These are hands-on field roles for technicians who enjoy working with fiber and copper cabling, installing and troubleshooting physical infrastructure, and taking ownership of quality-focused installations from start to finish.

The ideal candidate will have strong structured cabling/low-voltage experience, with the ability to install, terminate, test, service, and decommission cabling systems. Data center experience is a strong plus, and the Tech 3 level requires previous experience leading teams and mentoring junior technicians.

Experience of the Right Candidate:

• Approximately 3-5+ years of hands-on telecom, structured cabling, or low-voltage experience
• Experience with Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, Ethernet, and fiber optic/ copper systems
• Experience building, installing, modifying, or removing racks, cabinets, cable trays, ladder racks, pathways, and other cabling infrastructure
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, cabling diagrams, and project specifications
• Experience with major manufacturers such as Panduit, CommScope, Corning, Leviton, or similar is preferred
• Understanding of applicable NEC, ANSI, TIA/EIA, and BICSI standards
• Experience testing and certifying copper and fiber installations
• BICSI Technician, FOA, or similar certifications are highly desired/preferred
• OSHA 10 certification preferred; must be obtained within 90 days if not currently certified
• First Aid/CPR certification required within 90 days
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Additional Experience:

• Previous experience leading field technicians or installation teams
• Ability to mentor and provide direction to junior technicians
• Experience ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and according to project specifications
• Ability to troubleshoot field issues and provide technical guidance to the team
• Proven ability to take ownership of projects and help ensure quality execution from installation through completion
