Job summary

Black Box is seeking Infrastructure Technicians II and III to support structured cabling and physical infrastructure in large-scale data centers. The role involves hands-on fiber and copper cabling, rack installation, cable routing, and testing to ensure reliable data center operations.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of telecom or structured cabling experience, with data center exposure and ability to mentor teammates. Travel and overtime may be required based on project needs.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of telecommunications, structured cabling, or related low-voltage experience.
• Hands-on fiber optic and copper cabling installation, testing, servicing, and decommissioning
• Install/remove racks, cabinets, cable trays, pathways, and related data center infrastructure
• Route, label, terminate cabling and test/commission
• Read and interpret blueprints and installation documentation
• Data center experience strongly preferred
• 5+ years of low-voltage or structured cabling experience
• Advanced copper and fiber installation, testing, and certification
• Experience with OTDR, VFL, Fluke DSX8000, or similar testing equipment
• Ability to lead and mentor technicians
• Knowledge of TIA, BICSI, NEC, ANSI, and EIA standards

Responsibilities

• Support large-scale data center infrastructure projects.
• Install and maintain racks, cabinets, cable trays, and pathways.
• Route, label, terminate, test, and commission cabling per standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints and installation docs.
• Mentor junior technicians and coordinate field activities.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM

Occasional evenings, weekends, overtime, or after-hours work may be required based on project needs.

• 3-5 years of telecommunications, structured cabling, or related low-voltage experience

Additional Requirements

• Able to work at heights and in tight/raised-floor environments
• Able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

• Must be flexible for occasional overtime, weekends, after-hours work, and U.S. travel

This is a hands-on opportunity to work on large-scale data center infrastructure projects with potential for contract extension or direct hire.
