Job summary

Analysis Group is seeking an Infrastructure Systems Engineer to maintain and optimize our computer systems in Boston. You will install, patch, and troubleshoot servers, storage, and networks, ensuring reliability and security across on-prem and cloud environments.

The role requires strong virtualization experience (VMware), hands-on hardware knowledge, and collaboration with Information Security. Prior scripting and automation skills are valued for efficiency and disaster recovery planning.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of substantive relevant work experience; 5+ years preferred.
Experience with Dell and Pure storage.
Proven experience and success with virtualization (VMWare or equivalent).
Proven technical knowledge of current server hardware, protocols, and Internet standards.
Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience.
Strong knowledge of systems, server software, hardware, and networking protocols.
Experience with scripting and automation tools.
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Firm understanding of Windows system administration and security; Linux experience helpful.
Experience working in a team-oriented environment; familiarity with Jira is helpful.
System administration and IT certifications in Microsoft, Linux or other network fields are a plus.
Experience with Dell and/or Cisco blade chassis.
Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship or restriction.

Responsibilities

Installing, configuring, and maintaining physical and virtual servers and networks.
Managing virtual machines in the data center and the cloud.
Working with Information Security to manage updates, patches, and access rules using automation tools.
Overseeing system performance and troubleshooting issues with monitoring tools.
Troubleshooting hardware and software errors; documenting problems and resolutions.
Handling backup procedures for on-prem and cloud-based systems.
Create and maintain technical documentation.
Maintain asset management, including system inventory and documentation.
Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation to troubleshoot critical issues.
Experience with automated disaster recovery processes is a plus.
