Job summary

Graham, an employee-owned construction solutions partner, seeks an Operations Accountant for its Infrastructure division. The role provides accounting support across projects, ensuring timely and accurate financial information, and adherence to policies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Commerce/Business/Accounting or a related field.
• 5 - 7 years relevant accounting experience.
• 1 or more years' experience in a supervisory role.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Demonstrate moderate to strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of Project Accounting principles and practices.
• Demonstrate good technical accounting proficiency in billing and cost accounting.
• Demonstrate good analytical skills.
• Experience in Construction, Engineering or Heavy Manufacturing Industries.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel, ERP systems, SAP preferred.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of financial and management/cost accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the general transactional accounting processes, reconciliations, and month-end procedures are completed accurately and on time.
• Administer subtrade contracts in adherence with company policy.
• Reconcile and complete owner progress billings, including change orders, accurately and timely.
• Review timekeeping process and LEMS reporting to ensure timely delivery in line with owner requirements and labor standards.
• Manage accounts receivable collections and support AR reporting.
• Support cash flow forecasts for projects and provide project input.
• Ensure adherence to government, provincial/state regulations, and taxes at the project level.
• Contribute to internal controls and governance frameworks and suggest process improvements.
• Support audit deliverables for external and client projects.
• Understand JV/Project contract terms related to billing, costing, tax, and labor standards.
