Graham Contracting, Ltd. is seeking an Operations Accountant to provide comprehensive project accounting support for our infrastructure projects in North America.

You will oversee transactional accounting, billings, cost tracking, and AR management while ensuring compliance with company policies and project contracts. This role emphasizes accuracy, timeliness, and strong communication within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Commerce/Business/Accounting or a related field.
• 5 - 7 years relevant accounting experience.
• 1 or more years' experience in a supervisory role.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Demonstrate moderate to strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of Project Accounting principles and practices.
• Demonstrate good Technical accounting proficiency in billing and cost accounting.
• Demonstrate good analytical skills.
• Experience in Construction, Engineering or Heavy Manufacturing Industries.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel,ERP systems, SAPpreferred.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of UAT testing for systems upgrades and enhancements.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of financial and management/cost accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the general transactional accounting processes, reconciliations, and month-end procedures are completed accurately and on time.
• Manage administration of subtrade contracts in adherence with policy.
• Ensure accurate reconciliation and completion of owner progress billings, including change orders, per contract.
• Review timekeeping process and LEMS reporting to ensure timely delivery and compliance with union agreements and labor standards.
• Manage accounts receivable collections and support AR reporting and dispute resolutions.
• Support project input for weekly cash flow forecasts for branches/business units.
• Ensure adherence to government, provincial/state regulations, and taxes at the project level.
• Maintain internal controls and document accounting processes; identify improvements.
