Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer II to operate DNS/DHCP, authentication, and certificate lifecycle for stores, DCs, and corporate systems. You will partner with CIS engineers to own operational tasks and grow into senior infrastructure responsibilities.

You will automate routines, monitor for incidents, and contribute to runbooks while collaborating across security and platform teams in a multi-cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–4 years of experience in network, infrastructure, or systems engineering with DNS/DHCP exposure.
• Foundational TCP/IP, DNS concepts, and DHCP concepts; strong troubleshooting skills.
• Basic scripting (Python/PowerShell) and interest in automation.
• Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and willingness to learn.
• Exposure to network access control concepts (ClearPass/802.1X).
• Familiarity with certificate and PKI concepts and renewal processes.
• Clear documentation habits and effective written/verbal communication.
• Strong team player with collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support DNS/DHCP services (Infoblox) and related authentication systems.
• Assist with network access control operations and RADIUS policy changes.
• Handle certificate lifecycle tasks across internal and external systems.
• Develop automation scripts (Python/Ansible) to reduce manual work.
• Monitor systems, triage incidents, and drive to resolution.
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident response.
• Document changes and update runbooks for cross-team sharing.
• Learn and apply AI-assisted tooling for diagnostics and automation.
• Collaborate with security, engineering, and platform teams on DNS/identity projects.
• Bridge on-premises and cloud infrastructure across AWS/Azure/GCP.
