Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. is seeking an Engineer 1 on the Cloud Engineering team to help ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of critical infrastructure used across AWS, GCP, Azure, and OCI.

This hybrid role requires onsite work at Nordstrom's headquarters in Seattle, WA, at least four days per week, plus participation in an on-call rotation. The ideal candidate is an early-career engineer excited about cloud tech, security, automation, and operational excellence, with hands-on cloud

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and knowledge of security, networking, and IAM best practices.
• Proficiency in Python with clean, reusable, testable code.
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform or similar).
• Familiarity with monitoring/telemetry/alerting tools (e.g., New Relic).
• Desire to learn Systems and Security Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Implement and champion cloud technologies in line with engineering and security standards.
• Build secure tooling to enable self-service across AWS, GCP, Azure, and OCI for application teams.
• Collaborate with development and operations to support their success.
• Provide operational support to run clouds at enterprise scale.
• Contribute to project work and continuous improvement.
