Summary

IT Specialist (APPSW) Infrastructure Engineer positions are available through the Office of Personnel Management’s delegated Direct Hire Authority. Positions are open to all U.S. citizens; Veterans Preference and the “Rule of Many” do not apply. Selections will be processed as new appointments to the civil service, and current civil service employees will receive new appointments.

Location and Compensation

Location: Woodlawn, MD (telework eligible, no remote job). Salary range: $121,785 - $158,322 per year (GS‑13). Full‑time position.

Responsibilities
  • Knowledge of a wide range of multi‑platform software/hardware products and services in a multi‑platform software development environment.
  • Install, configure, and support various operating systems.
  • Analyze software/hardware problems and formulate solutions.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server Update Services.
  • Coordinate technical tasks with fellow employees and/or vendors.
  • Organize joint inter‑component efforts.
  • Communicate orally and in writing.
Qualifications
  • Attention to detail—thorough work and conscientious about detail.
  • Customer service—work with clients and customers to assess needs, provide information, and resolve problems.
  • Oral communication—effective presentations and listening.
  • Problem solving—identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and make recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications

Grade 13: at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS‑12 level, or equivalent, with the following:

  • Supporting Windows Server infrastructure.
  • Knowledge and expertise in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
  • Providing innovative, implementable solutions.
Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Selective Service registration, if applicable.
  • Fingerprinting and background or security investigation.
  • Potential one‑year probationary period.
  • No relocation expenses reimbursed.
  • All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date.
