Job summary

OnlyHire.Me in New York, NY seeks a Cost Estimator to support the Hillview Reservoir Project, delivering independent cost estimates for design and field changes.

Hybrid work schedule, with 3 days on-site and 2 remote. Responsibilities include reviewing contractor proposals, preparing cost breakdowns, and ensuring QA/QC compliance.

The role requires at least 5 years of estimating experience on large infrastructure projects and proficiency with Sage, Bluebeam, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a construction cost estimator on large-scale infrastructure.
• Ability to interpret design drawings and change orders independently to prepare estimates.

Responsibilities

• Lead independent cost estimates for design and field change orders, including quantity takeoffs and pricing.
• Review contractor cost proposals using estimating software, subcontractor pricing, and historical data.
• Develop and document Authorized Cost Breakdown Spreadsheets and Negotiation Memos for approved change orders.
• Review time and material records and contractor cost documentation for monthly payment requisitions.
• Prepare independent estimates of probable costs and financial impact analyses for potential change orders.
• Support claim analysis by quantifying financial damages related to delays, productivity loss, and cost overruns.
• Ensure compliance with NYCDEP contract requirements and QA/QC standards.
