Job summary

Urban Engineers is seeking a Cost Estimator to join the Estimating Department. This position supports cost estimating across a broad mix of projects including highway, bridge, marine, transit, aviation, and rail designs.

Responsibilities include detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, pricing, documentation, and client deliverables. The role requires strong communication and familiarity with estimating software; hybrid work options in the Philadelphia region are available.

Qualifications

• Experience in cost estimating for heavy civil projects is required.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to interpret design documents and prepare documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates at various design stages under supervision.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and price labor, materials, and equipment.
• Prepare estimates for highways, bridges, marine, transit, aviation, and rail projects.
• Maintain documentation for estimates, takeoffs, pricing, and assumptions.
• Assist with estimating deliverables to clients and management.
• Support estimation databases, historical cost data, and libraries.
• Help with project budget updates and reconciliation as design progresses.
