New York, NY | Hybrid – 3+ Days Onsite | $75/Hour | 12-Month Contract

We are hiring an experienced Estimator to support major energy, utility, and infrastructure projects in New York City.

This role will focus on developing conceptual, authorization, appropriation, budget, and detailed cost estimates for complex projects involving transmission, substations, renewable energy integration, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and other large-scale infrastructure initiatives.

We are seeking someone with strong, hands‑on construction estimating experience who understands how labor, materials, equipment, construction methods, site conditions, logistics, installation requirements, and project scope affect overall project cost.

Direct utility or substation experience is preferred, but candidates with substantial experience in heavy civil, industrial construction, EPC, electrical, mechanical, infrastructure, or other complex construction environments are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

• Develop cost estimates from preliminary engineering information, drawings, sketches, scopes, and specifications.
• Analyze project scope, construction methods, labor, materials, equipment, logistics, and site conditions.
• Develop estimating assumptions when design information is incomplete.
• Identify cost drivers, risks, constraints, and project assumptions.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, project management, and operations teams.
• Evaluate requirements for foundations, access roads, retaining structures, platforms, rigging, cranes, equipment transportation, and site development.
• Develop cost models, estimating databases, and supporting documentation.
• Support project budgets, forecasting, authorization, and appropriation processes.
• Participate in field visits when needed to evaluate existing conditions.
• Manage multiple estimating assignments and meet project deadlines.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on construction estimating experience.
• Experience estimating complex construction, infrastructure, industrial, utility, or EPC projects.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods.
• Ability to interpret preliminary drawings, scopes, sketches, and specifications.
