Job summary

Apex, Town of (NC) seeks a Construction Inspector to interpret and enforce construction codes through field inspections of residential and commercial developments. The role includes reviewing plans, meeting with contractors to review specifications, and inspecting work in progress and after completion for compliance with approved designs.

You will oversee chlorination of new water lines and concrete work, perform GPS locating and mapping, and report to the Infrastructure Inspections Manager.

Responsibilities

• Inspect infrastructure for residential and commercial developments to enforce codes.
• Inspect water and sewer lines, streets, driveways, sidewalks, curbs and gutters; review storm drainage and stormwater control measures.
• Review construction plans and meet with contractors to review specifications.
• Inspect construction in progress and upon completion for adherence to approved plans and specifications.
• Oversee chlorination of new water lines, concrete, and GPS locating and mapping.
• Reports to the Infrastructure Inspections Manager; no supervisory responsibilities.
