Job summary

The role requires an associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field with several years of inspection experience, multiple certifications, and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related area; and 3 years of construction observation/inspection; or 5 years of related experience.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license. OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety certification within 6 months.
• Completion of City of Hendersonville Academy and LTAP Roads Scholar progress within specified timelines.
• Certification in trenching, NCDOT testing, flagger, and related inspections within 12–48 months.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction projects for compliance with local, state, and federal standards.
• Document field activities, tests, and observations; maintain reports and photos.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and inspectors on deficiencies and actions.
• Ensure trench safety, testing, and quality of workmanship meet specifications.
