Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Construction Inspector for an engineering firm in Asheville, NC. This field-focused role provides quality-assurance inspections across development projects and serves as a key resource for project managers, contractors, developers, and other stakeholders.

The successful candidate will monitor construction activities, review work against plans, assist with technical documentation, and help ensure compliance with codes and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Four years of paraprofessional engineering or construction trades experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from an accredited institution.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction trends, and mathematics.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local codes and regulations governing construction.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard company software packages.
• Strong report-writing, presentation, and customer-service skills.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide general inspection of construction activities across multiple projects.
• Monitor site work and installations performed by contractors and utility providers.
• Review construction activity against site plans, engineering drawings, and project requirements.
• Audit projects for cost and constructability considerations.
• Analyze design and surveying issues encountered during project execution.
• Assist with preparation of bid documents, technical specifications, and project reports.
• Participate in staff meetings and communicate critical project issues to management.
• Maintain accurate and timely project records.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with management, developers, contractors, and public agencies.
