Job summary

Jobtailor in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a Software Team Lead to own the infrastructure automation code base. You will define coding strategy, own code review routines, and build world-class APIs to enable interaction with other systems.

You will manage a team of about six developers, ensure adherence to a robust release cycle, mentor engineers on design and best practices, and collaborate with the infrastructure team to deliver outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a coding team.
• Proficiency in Python scripting.
• Proficiency in orchestrating workflows using Ansible.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong focus on testing and reliability, including automated integration/validation testing.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of the software code base for infrastructure automation routines.
• Definition of coding strategy and ownership of code review routines.
• Development of world class APIs to enable interaction with other systems.
• Day to day work allocation and tracking for a team of half a dozen developers.
• Ensure adherence of the team to a robust release cycle process.
• Support/mentor/coach for the team on design and best practices for high code performance – e.g. pairing, code reviews.
• Interaction with infrastructure engineering team to understand desired outcomes, and ensure that the software that is developed delivers them.
• Deliver work using an Agile methodology and use Jira for work assignments and tracking.
• Development of automated regression testing to streamline release cycles.
