Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior DevOps engineer to lead automation efforts, build and maintain Ansible playbooks, and improve CI/CD pipelines across environments. You will enable developers through self-service tooling and guardrails to reduce manual work.

The role emphasizes strong troubleshooting across distributed systems, MySQL experience, and excellent communication to coordinate with multiple stakeholders. A proactive approach to incident resolution and platform upgrades is required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of RedHat Linux server administration experience.
• 6+ years of Ansible scripting/automation experience.
• 6+ years of Bash and Python scripting experience.
• Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Strong troubleshooting across distributed systems (infrastructure, app, DB, network).
• Experience with MySQL; PostgreSQL is a plus.
• Excellent communication and ability to lead through planning and influence.
• Proven ability to manage multiple requests and deliver reliably under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation initiatives to eliminate repetitive tasks and reduce toil.
• Build and maintain Ansible automation to provision environments and keep them updated.
• Propose and lead platform improvement projects using Ansible, Rundeck, and CI/CD tools.
• Design and improve CI/CD pipelines with safe rollout/rollback strategies.
• Create reusable tooling, templates, and self-service workflows to reduce manual work.
• Improve delivery quality with automated testing, deployment validation, and reliable environments.
• Improve observability across services and infrastructure (monitoring, logs, alerts, tracing).
• Lead incident analysis and RCAs across infra, app, DB, and network layers; drive prevention.
