Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a DevOps Automation Engineer to design and deliver automation for cloud environments at scale. You will work with platform teams and external collaborators (including Microsoft) to ship reliable automation, build CI/CD pipelines, and drive self‑service workflows.

The role emphasizes Infrastructure as Code with Azure + OpenShift, observability, and secure, auditable automation. You will champion DevOps practices across teams and reduce toil.

Qualifications

• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for cloud apps.
• Strong Python scripting for automation.
• Hands-on Azure or OpenShift deployment experience.
• Experience with RBAC and secrets management.
• Observability and reliability focused automation.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver automation built with modern DevOps practices to empower operations teams managing cloud environments at scale.
• Partner with internal platform teams, operations, and external collaborators (including Microsoft) to ship reliable, secure, and observable automation.
• Build and deploy CI/CD pipelines that deliver platform services, configurations, and automation safely and repeatably at scale.
• Design and develop APIs and service interfaces that enable self‑service operations and event‑driven workflows for platform management.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Azure + Bicep, Kubernetes, and OpenShift, standardizing patterns, modules, and guardrails for consistent deployments.
• Embed observability and reliability into automation (logging, metrics, pre/post‑checks), enabling proactive operations.
• Codify runbooks into reusable tools/CLIs, Git‑backed workflows, and pipelines for our operations teams.
• Champion DevOps best practices—version control, peer reviews, testing, security‑by‑default, secrets management, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with platform engineering, security, and operations to prioritize automation that reduces toil and MTTR.
