Job summary

GVEC is hiring an Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and maintain server, virtualization, and storage systems across two data centers. You will automate provisioning with PowerShell, Ansible, and other tools while coordinating DR plans and recovery tests.

You will manage Windows and Linux servers, monitor health with CheckMK and other observability tools, and collaborate with Network and Applications teams on cross-functional projects.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of server virtualization, preferably VMware.
• Experience with Active Directory and directory sync configurations.
• Strong scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, Ansible) to provision infrastructure at scale.
• Windows Server installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting expertise.
• Linux server administration skills.
• Networking basics and security coordination with security teams.
• Storage/backup and DR tools experience (Pure Storage, Veeam).
• Monitoring/observability tooling (CheckMK, Grafana, Prometheus).
• Ability to manage priorities and work independently with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and sustain server, virtualization, and storage infrastructure across two GVEC data centers.
• Build automation and scripting to provision, configure, and remediate systems.
• Develop DR procedures and coordinate disaster recovery testing.
• Support production Windows and Linux servers, physical and virtual.
• Create monitoring/alerting to proactively identify infrastructure issues.
• Develop standards and procedures for reliability and security.
• Collaborate with Network and Applications teams on projects.
• Manage block storage, LUNs, RAID, iSCSI, replication across data centers.
• Utilize ITSM tools to handle incidents, requests, and changes; participate in on-call rotation.
