Overview

Carollo Engineers is an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking an Information Technology Support Technician to provide onsite as well as remote support to our employees.

The IT Support Technician will offer hands-on and remote technical support for end-user desktop computing devices to all Carollo employees, addressing various technical issues including hardware/software/application/tools support, hardware break/fix, and support for devices such as laptops, tablets, printers, scanners, copiers, and plotters. The role also involves supporting network connectivity, Active Directory, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, wireless and remote VPN access, and MS Office Suite. The candidate should possess excellent end-user support and service skills, with a focus on follow-through and resolution, diagnostics, and corrective actions for hardware, software, and peripherals. The technician should be skilled in identifying and resolving network issues or escalating them appropriately, maintaining professional relationships, and creating documentation to support standards, policies, and processes.

Responsibilities
  • Support and service end-user desktop and laptop requests, providing responsive, customer-oriented assistance
  • Configure, install, and maintain desktop hardware, software, and tools; monitor backups for success
  • Manage ticketing system queues and resolve issues promptly
  • Contribute to decisions on hardware/software acquisition, deployment, and management
  • Develop and monitor performance of software and hardware; evaluate and propose improvements
  • Support installation and troubleshooting of Windows operating systems and train end-users
  • Provide expert solutions for hardware and software challenges
  • Research, resolve, and escalate inquiries based on policies and standards
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant products, support policies, and support delivery methods
  • Participate in IT projects and tasks as assigned by management
  • Travel to other Carollo offices as needed (up to 25%)
  • Provide regional IT support for other locations
Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of PC hardware/software and Windows 10/11
  • Foundation skills in supporting Microsoft Outlook in an Exchange environment
  • Experience with Microsoft SCCM/MECM for management and deployment
  • Support experience for network printers, scanners, and multi-function devices
  • Experience supporting mobile devices including iOS and Android
  • Knowledge of antivirus and anti-spam solutions (e.g., Microsoft SCEP)
  • Ability to support remote users effectively
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Server OS, Active Directory, and networking principles
  • Experience with AV equipment and conference room technology
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of professional IT support experience
  • Experience with CAD, engineering, and graphics software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation)
  • Experience with collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams and Office 365
  • Experience supporting Mac OS, MDM, MFA, and Office Moves
  • Knowledge of SCCM/MEMCM
