About This Role
DMV’s Information Systems Division (ISD) is looking for an Application Developer to help modernize and enhance the systems that power DMV’s core services. In this role, you’ll build and maintain applications, support Salesforce/Mule releases, and contribute to new integrations and feature development. You’ll work closely with both business and technical teams to turn requirements into reliable, user-focused solutions. You’ll also play a key part in troubleshooting issues, resolving defects, and continuously improving the application landscape. - Analyze requirements and develop technical designs for mission‑critical DMV systems.
- Build, test, deploy, and maintain secure and scalable software applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues to ensure system stability and uptime.
- Create REST/SOAP integrations, data services, and optimized database components.
- Support full development lifecycle activities, from requirements through post-implementation.
- Contribute to system architecture improvements, upgrades, and performance enhancements.
- Research and recommend cost-effective, scalable technology solutions.
- Coordinate system installations, upgrades, testing, and release activities.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for complex system and database issues.
- Act as a technical liaison across development, infrastructure, and business teams.
- Participate in project planning, requirements validation, and design reviews.
- Review code and technical designs for quality and adherence to standards.
- Develop clear technical documentation, analyses, and status reports.
- Support DevOps pipelines, automated deployments, and release management processes.
- Coordinate release planning, validation, rollback strategies, and post-release monitoring.
Desirable Qualifications
- Strong application development experience, especially within enterprise systems
- Experience working with Salesforce platforms
- Background supporting development and maintenance in mission‑critical, 24x7 environments
- Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions
- Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall development methodologies
- Familiarity with system integration, APIs, and data handling practices
- Skilled in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and defect resolution
- Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams including business analysts, QA, and DevOps
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing demands
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
