Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the department's information systems. Configure and maintain the operating systems, hardware, and software.
  • Provide first level support to department's system users. Configure user access and profiles. Troubleshoots user problems. Coordinates user training on system.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Performs regular and preventive maintenance on department PCs. Evaluates, repairs, and troubleshoots hardware and software problems.
  • Coordinates with other divisions on matters concerning equipment needs, user training, and computer maintenance.
  • Manages computer operation scheduling, backup, storage and retrieval functions.
  • Sets up and maintains department's PC's and peripherals. Upgrades hardware and software.
  • Develop and recommend plans for system development and operations, hardware, and software purchases.
  • Identifies opportunities for improving information systems, methods, and procedures. Recommends and develops improvements to existing computer systems, applications, and hardware.
  • Acts as a liaison for system users with vendors of various software and hardware products.
  • Ensure compliance with Criminal Justice information Services (CJIS) Security Policy.
  • Support Security camera systems.

Job description

General Summary

Coordinates, manages, and oversees the activities and operations of the Office's information systems to include Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD), Jail Management Systems (JMS), Records Management Systems (RMS), and Mobile Data Computers (MDC). Investigates and resolves users' computer software and hardware problems. Provides technical support, system maintenance, and network assistance. Performs data and quality control maintenance. Trains and directs users on the system. Coordinates services and activities with other departments, divisions, and outside agencies. Is responsible for network management. Is available for after-hours emergency calls.

Minimum Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
  • Associate’sdegree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or a related field
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
Required Licenses or Certifications
  • Class C driver's license
  • Microsoft Technology Associate Certification
