Job description

Under general direction of the Information Technology Manager II (ITM II), the Information Technology Manager I (ITM I), independently plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities of the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) Regional Support Section (RSS) within the Enterprise Operations Support Branch (EOSB). The manager will manage directly, or through subordinate managers and supervisors, a staff of technical specialists and provide overall management of staff to design, develop, implement and support a complex office automation network in support of the Department of Justice (DOJ) staff statewide.

The TAC (Regional) has staff located in multiple locations in San Francisco, Oakland, Fresno, Los Angeles, and San Diego.

This branch’s primary responsibility is the day-to-day support of DOJ staff via TAC. RSS is also responsible for the development, coordination, deployment, and support of the standard software for all of DOJ’s personal computers (PCs), wireless systems, and mobile devices, in various locations statewide. This branch is also responsible for the coordination, testing, and deployment of the software patches/upgrades for DOJ’s systems, and for the applications and their upgrades, used by DOJ staff.

The branch manager defines strategies on the support of DOJ staff’s PC computing, and the analysis, review, and implementation of new technologies in support of DOJ staff.
