Information Systems (IS) Trainer – New York, NY
A leading global professional services firm is seeking an experienced Information Systems Trainer to join its Technology Training & Change Management team. This individual will be responsible for delivering technical training to attorneys and professional staff, supporting technology rollouts, developing training materials, and ensuring users maximize the firm's technology investments.
This is a highly visible role that combines classroom instruction, one-on-one coaching, change management, and end-user support within a fast-paced professional environment.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and deliver new hire technology training for attorneys and staff, while providing backup support for other offices as needed.
- Research, design, organize, and facilitate instructor-led and virtual training programs.
- Participate in firmwide technology initiatives, including software testing, business needs analysis, prototyping, user feedback analysis, and best practice development.
- Assess training needs across departments and provide just-in-time training to support users.
- Develop and distribute training materials including Quick Reference Guides, job aids, handouts, and instructional bulletins.
- Coordinate conference room and virtual classroom setup for training sessions.
- Partner with technology and support teams to ensure smooth software deployments and user adoption.
- Create and update training content for new software implementations and system upgrades.
- Build strong relationships with office leadership to identify training opportunities and improve user adoption.
- Maintain training calendars and communicate upcoming learning opportunities.
- Work closely with IT support teams to troubleshoot issues and escalate problems when appropriate.
- Assist with the planning and execution of training programs delivered by outside consultants.
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Comfortable delivering both one-on-one and classroom-style training.
- Ability to explain technical concepts in a way that is easy for non-technical users to understand.
- Experience supporting users with varying technical skill levels, from beginners to advanced users.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain professionalism while providing exceptional customer service.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent technical training and experience.
- 5+ years of experience delivering technical training in a corporate environment (professional services or legal industry experience preferred).
- Experience creating and delivering successful end-user training programs.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Windows 11
- Microsoft 365
- Microsoft Teams
- Adobe Acrobat
- iManage
- Experience supporting Apple iOS and macOS devices.
- Experience with legal technology including Litera Compare and Litera Create/NTD.
- Experience with Aderant Expert Time, InterAction, Foundation, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, or other eLearning development tools is a plus.
