Job description

Major Job Duties

Assist a higher-level Information Technology Department staff member with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT hardware and software, and other general duties related to efficient IT operations. Work is performed under the direct supervision of a higher-level IT employee. Supervision is not a responsibility of this position. Does related work as required.

• Assist with the installation and relocation of hardware and software of network equipment.


• Assist with the performance of periodic preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.


• Assist with the preparation of network and associated equipment for installation.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma.


• Broome County Civil Service Exam Required.


• Three (3) professional references required.


• A copy of your diploma may be uploaded in place of transcripts if necessary.

Special Requirement

• Depending on the job location and/or department, possession of a valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of New York will be required at the time of appointment.
