Job summary

Akina, Inc. is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer 2 in Annapolis Junction, MD, with TS/SCI clearance and DoD RMF expertise. The role focuses on security architectures across multi-enclave environments and tight integration of PKI and cryptography.

You will lead security planning and assessment activities to ensure compliance and robust protection. Required twelve years ISSE experience, DoD 8570 IASAE II, and a Bachelor’s degree.

• Support the Government in enforcing trusted relationships among external systems and architectures.
• Apply security engineering expertise across system integration, cross-domain solutions, COTS/GOTS cryptography, PKI, intrusion detection, and access/control mechanisms.
• Perform security planning, risk analysis, risk management, threat mitigation, and review C&A documentation for completeness.

Description:

Perform technical security assessments of computing environments to identify points of vulnerability and non-compliance with established Information Assurance (IA) standards. Validate and verify system security requirements, establish system security designs, and build security architectures across multi-enclave environments. Support security authorization activities in compliance with DoD RMF, NIST RMF, and NISCAP processes.

ISSO2 Qualifications:

Twelve (12) years of experience as an ISSE on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Must include recent experience (within the last 5 years) with Cybersecurity principles and technologies (access/control, authorization, PKI, and network/enterprise security architecture).

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related discipline.

Four (4) years of additional ISSE experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.

Certifications: DoD 8570 compliance with IASAE Level II required.

Salary Range: $173k-$212k (Annually)

The range displayed above is a likely salary range for this position. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possible contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
