The City of Columbus seeks a professional to develop, implement, and maintain information processing systems within the Department of Building and Zoning Services. You will analyze requirements, design databases, test changes, and document procedures while supporting users and keeping systems secure.

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree with CS/IT coursework or an associate’s degree with two years’ IT experience; additional IT experience may substitute for education.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree with significant coursework in computer science or information technology.
• Alternatively, an associate’s degree plus two years’ IT systems experience.
• Additional IT experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, implement, and maintain information processing systems.
• Provide advanced support and maintenance for department-directed technology systems.
• Review and analyze hardware and software options and recommend selections.
• Design and support relational databases to meet data processing needs.
• Analyze user requirements and automate processing or improve workflows and reports.
• Develop and execute comprehensive testing scenarios for system fixes and enhancements.
• Provide technical support to users of department-directed applications.
• Update and maintain department websites.
• Confers with management to develop and implement information processing systems.
• Install software and hardware packages and tailor features to department needs.
• Write system documentation, program specifications, and production procedures.
• Manage data backup and recovery and maintain LAN operations.
• Instruct and train users; write manuals and instructions.
• Stay updated with developments in computer information systems.

Educación

Bachelor's degree with significant coursework in computer science or information technology

Associate's degree + 2 years IT systems experience
