Kratos has a new opportunity for an experienced Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to support the development of new information systems and to bolster the cybersecurity posture of legacy systems. This role will develop and implement technical solutions to complex cybersecurity requirements.

This position is based on multiple DoD Directives, including DoD 5205.07 volumes 1-4, DoDD 5205.02E, DoDI 5025.01, 5205.11, 5200.39, 5220.22, DoDM 3305.13, DoD 8140 series, Intelligence Community Directive Series 500/600/700, NIST 800 series publications, Executive Orders 13556 and 13636, the Joint SP Implementation Guide Rev 4, and DISA Security Technical Guides.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, eligible for a security clearance, and willing to travel as required. Selected candidates will undergo a government security investigation.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop system security architecture satisfying NIST requirements.
2. Provide expert cybersecurity support across the portfolio.
3. Support Authorization to Operate (ATO) activities by interfacing with cybersecurity disciplines.
4. Introduce new technology into established systems through engineering strategies.
5. Conduct cost-benefit analyses for manual, software, or hardware solutions.
6. Design improved processes based on enterprise IT needs.
7. Develop, implement, and monitor security measures to protect information and networks.
8. Define and document system security requirements; recommend solutions.
9. Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security hardware/software.
10. Coordinate security policies and access controls with IT Operations.
11. Ensure compliance with security policies and industry regulations.
12. Evaluate and recommend security updates.
13. Maintain technical documentation.
14. Research security threats and countermeasures.
15. Develop and execute Security Test and Evaluation plans.
16. Support certification and accreditation processes.
17. Recommend system security improvements.
18. Develop and test security tools.
19. Conduct security audits and develop risk mitigation strategies.
20. Support incident response and perform vulnerability assessments.
21. Represent the cybersecurity team in working groups and industry events.
22. Participate in business development activities as needed.
23. Travel to customer sites as required.

Required Experience:

• 7-10+ years in cybersecurity.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience with NIST controls, SRR/PDR/CDR reviews, AWS, SIEM solutions, Trellix ESS/ENS.
• Expertise in NIST RMF, network engineering, system architecture.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and relevant industry certifications (CISSP, CISM, etc.).
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience with security tools like ACAS, Greylog, Nessus, Splunk.
• Familiarity with agile tools, containerization, zero trust, JSIG, Linux, satellite ground systems.

Additional Details:

Salary range: $125,000 - $180,000, based on experience and education. The position is onsite. The posting closes in 90 days.
