As a Security-focused engineer, you will be responsible for keeping our infrastructure safe. You can see Loft as a public cloud provider for space. As such, we require the same security level and expertise. You will interact with the entire engineering team and beyond. Infrastructure team members are first-class support. Our clients are internal, and they’re super nice!

We’re a young company, meaning the ecosystem is growing fast, and there is a lot to do. You will work from design to implementation, with no silos!

We’re automating everything! Including our satellite operations. This means we don’t require a dedicated ops team. It also means that when we actually need hands on deck (launches), you can be part of that team. And that’s fully optional—you can also observe peacefully from the audience!

About the Role:

• Include DevSecOps best practices in CI/CD pipelines
• Analyze application security (pentesting)
• Support teams in fixing raised issues
• Document and design security processes
• Help educate on security best practices

Must Haves:

• Comfortable with container ecosystems with a security-first approach

• Proficient with at least one modern programming language

State law requires us to inform you that the salary range for this role is $140,250 - $190,000 per year. This depends on your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The range is wide to accommodate different levels of experience. We’re excited to meet you and see if you’re a great fit for our team. Loft Orbital builds “shareable” satellites, providing a fast & simple path to orbit for organizations requiring space access. Powered by our hardware & software, we operate satellites, fly customer payloads onboard, and manage entire missions—reducing lead times and risks compared to traditional space missions.

Our standard interface allows multiple customer payloads on the same satellite, supporting earth imagery, climate science data collection, IoT connectivity, in-orbit demonstrations, and national security missions. Our clients trust us to manage their space infrastructure so they can focus on their core missions and data collection.
