Qualifications

Responsibilities

Internship Job title:Intern – Information Security & Risk, Summer 2027

Department/Division: Technology / Information Security and Risk

Hourly Range: $25.54-$26.80

Location: Ada, MI (Onsite)

*Note: This position is an office role, and you must be able to report in-person to Ada on Mondays through Thursdays, with Friday as a remote optional day

In this role, you will contribute incremental value on the team in a dynamic and rapidly changing global environment. Your success will require a willingness to learn new technologies quickly, assess risks and threats, and assist in ways to improve the security of business solutions. This internship embeds you with our Security Operations Center (SOC) team, where you'll first learn how analysts triage and investigate real security alerts day-to-day, then use those insights to help identify repetitive tasks and design automation that makes the team more efficient. It's a hands-on role that blends learning core security operations with applying problem-solving and light coding skills to real-world challenges — no prior security experience required.

An example of a typical project would be:

Example #1

• Securing endpoints (workstations and servers) from malware (viruses, ransomware, etc.). Web Application & API threat detection/protections. Responding to and triaging security events/alerts that surface within Amway’s Security Operations Center (SOC).

Example #2

• Plan, coordinate, configure, and document applications for use with Single Sign On (SSO) including OIDC and SAML flows.

Example #3

• Identify and document potential opportunities for automation playbooks within the SOC platform.

Required skills and background:

Desired Majors: Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Information Security

Academic Eligibility: Undergraduate students who will have completed their sophomore or junior year by the start of the internship, with an anticipated graduation date between August 2027 and April 2029.

Technical Skills:

• Exposure to Windows and/or Linux server-based Operating Systems.

• Comfortable with productivity solutions like:

• Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word etc.).

• Jira / Confluence

• Familiarity with web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.) or scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.)

• Basic understanding of HTTP and HTTPS Request/Response.

Soft Skills:

• Passion for Learning

• Strong analytical and communications skills.
