Amway’s AI Center of Excellence is seeking an AI Portfolio & Governance Intern for Summer 2027 in Ada, MI. You will explore AI adoption, governance, and value realization and work with leaders across the enterprise.

The internship focuses on analyzing AI usage, identifying opportunities, and developing recommendations to support responsible AI adoption. Onsite Mon-Thu with Friday optional remote, hourly pay $26.80–$28.10 for undergraduates.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled undergrad or grad student for Summer 2027 internship.
  • Experience with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau.

Responsibilities

  • Understand AI usage across Amway, identify opportunities and gaps, and provide insights that support AI strategy and governance decisions.
  • Gather information from stakeholders, analyze trends and value realization, and contribute recommendations for responsible AI adoption.
  • Support projects that assess AI productivity, costs, and business impact, and present findings to guide governance.

Location:

Ada, MI (Onsite)

Note: This position is an office role, and you must be able to report in-person in Ada on Mondays through Thursdays, with Friday as a remote optional day

What’s special about this team:

The Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence (AI CoE) team helps Amway maximize the value of AI across the business by focusing on AI adoption, governance, and value realization. The team partners with functions across the enterprise to understand how AI tools are being used, establish governance processes, evaluate risks and costs, and ensure AI investments deliver measurable business value. They support both productivity-focused AI solutions and business-specific AI use cases while helping teams navigate the appropriate governance and approval processes. As AI continues to reshape how work gets done, this team plays a critical role in enabling responsible AI adoption, identifying new opportunities, and helping Amway make informed decisions about where and how AI can accelerate business outcomes.

For an intern, this is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of AI, business strategy, analytics, and governance during a period of rapid growth and innovation. You'll gain exposure to enterprise-wide AI initiatives, collaborate with leaders and users across the organization, and help shape how AI evolves within a global company.

How would an intern contribute to the team’s success:
  • The intern will help the team understand how AI is being used across Amway, identify opportunities and gaps, and provide insights that support future AI strategy and governance decisions. Working with stakeholders across the business, the intern will gather information, analyze trends and value realization, and contribute recommendations that help drive responsible and effective AI adoption throughout the enterprise.
An example of a typical project would be:

  • Conduct an AI landscape assessment across Amway, interviewing stakeholders to understand current use cases, identify gaps, and recommend future opportunities for AI adoption.

  • Research and analyze how employees use AI productivity tools such as Copilot, Cloud Desktop, and Cowork, then develop recommendations and training materials that help users choose the right tool for specific business needs

  • Analyze AI usage, cost, and value data to uncover insights related to productivity gains, business impact, and potential cost savings, then present findings to support AI governance and investment decisions.

Academic Eligibility:

Students who will have completed at least their junior year of undergraduate study by the start of the internship, including seniors and Master’s-level students, with an anticipated graduation date between August 2027 and April 2029.

Technical Skills (Platforms, Programs, Tools, etc.):
  • Experience using AI tools (such as Microsoft Copilot or other generative AI platforms) for research, productivity, or problem-solving.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including organizing data, performing basic analysis, and identifying trends.
  • Familiarity with data visualization or reporting tools, such as Tableau or similar analytics platforms.
Soft Skills:
  • Flexible mindset
  • Self-starter – take the direction, analyze it, run with it, and check in for guidance as needed
  • Team Player

Your pay rate within the posted range will be based on your completed class year at the start of the internship program. Amway’s recruiting team will confirm your applicable rate during the recruitment process.
