Amway’s Digital Engineering team is seeking a Digital Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 in Ada, MI. The role focuses on application modernization and software development for manufacturing operations, offering ownership of projects and collaboration with engineers and business partners.

Interns will gather requirements, build solutions, and support continuous improvement across enterprise applications used globally. Onsite schedule is Monday-Thursday with Friday optional remote.

Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements, develop solutions, and support continuous improvement across the portfolio.
  • Take ownership of meaningful project work and gain hands-on experience with enterprise applications.

Internship Job title:Digital Engineer Intern, Summer 2027 (REQ#43459)

Hourly Range: $25.54-$26.80
Location: Ada, MI (Onsite)
*Note: This position is an office role, and you must be able to report in-person to Ada on Mondays through Thursdays, with Friday as a remote optional day

The Digital Engineering team develops and supports manufacturing applications used directly on in manufacturing and production facilities across Amway's global operations. As a small but highly impactful team, they support 27 applications across two continents and play a critical role in enabling efficient and reliable manufacturing processes.

Team members are given meaningful ownership of projects while benefiting from strong collaboration and mentorship. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of software development and manufacturing technology, gaining exposure to both technical and business stakeholders.

How would an intern contribute to the team’s success:

The intern will contribute to application modernization and software development initiatives that support manufacturing operations. Working closely with engineers and business partners, they will help gather requirements, develop solutions, enhance existing applications, and support continuous improvement efforts across the team's application portfolio. Interns will have the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful project work while gaining hands‑on experience with enterprise applications used across global manufacturing operations.

  • Support efforts to modernize and consolidate existing manufacturing applications by migrating legacy systems to newer technologies and platforms. Responsibilities may include gathering business requirements, updating application functionality, testing solutions, and supporting implementation efforts.

  • Develop and enhance applications used on the manufacturing floor, including systems that interface with scales, measurement devices, and other operational technologies. Interns will gain exposure to software solutions that directly support business operations.

Academic Eligibility:

Undergraduate students who will have completed their sophomore or junior year by the start of the internship, with an anticipated graduation date between August 2027 and April 2029.

Technical Skills:
  • Experience with object-oriented programming concepts
  • Exposure to C# and .NET through coursework, projects, internships, or personal development work
  • Basic SQL and database knowledge
  • Understanding of software development fundamentals
Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with Blazor or similar modern web application frameworks
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions
  • Previous internship, co-op, research, or significant project experience
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies
Soft Skills:
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
