Navigant Credit Union is seeking an Information Security Intern to support foundational risk, security, and governance activities under close supervision. You will gain exposure to real-world operations, regulatory expectations, and risk management while contributing to protecting data confidentiality and availability.

The role provides hands-on experience, culture-building, and support for strategic objectives in a trusted Rhode Island institution.

Competenze

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Risk Management, Information Assurance, Audit, or a related field.
• Strong interest in information security, risk management or compliance.
• Good organizational skills with attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Service orientation aligned with the credit union's mission and core values.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a confidential environment.
• PC proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and general computer literacy.

• Assists in maintaining risk management tools and documentation, including exposure to risk assessments and risk reporting concepts.
• Observes and supports reporting activities that analyze trends, risks and control effectiveness.
• Assists with maintaining and reviewing information security policies and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory guidance and best practices.
• Assists with educational and awareness initiatives that promote a security culture.
• Contributes to Business Continuity and resilience through documentation support or training preparation.
• Participates in user access review activities and learns how access controls support least-privilege.
• Learn how Information Security functions as a strategic business partner while protecting data and maintaining compliance.
