Job summary

Bessemer Trust invites applications for the Governance, Risk, Compliance & Awareness Intern role in New Jersey. You will join the Information Security team to support governance, risk management, compliance, security awareness and resilience programs.

You will assist with policy maintenance, risk assessments, audits, and management updates while gaining exposure to enterprise risk practices across the firm’s technology landscape and offices.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a related field such as risk management, cybersecurity, information security or IT.
• Interest in pursuing a career in governance, risk management, compliance, cybersecurity, audit or related fields.
• Strong analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple projects and business areas.
• Project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on action items.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for governance and risk management tools and systems, including risk management software.
• Promote information security awareness through campaigns, training, phishing simulations and other initiatives.
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning and exercises.
• Assist in creating and maintaining information security policies, standards, procedures and controls.
• Prepare materials for executive presentations, governance committees and risk reports.
• Assist in collecting and analyzing information for enterprise and technology risk assessments.
• Support audit, regulatory and compliance activities, including gathering documentation and tracking follow-ups.
• Assist with tracking, documentation, reporting and escalation of security, privacy, risk and Red Flags matters.
• Support business continuity planning and operational resilience activities.
• Track and report risk, compliance, remediation and security awareness metrics.
