Job summary

Byte Systems, a VTG subsidiary, seeks a Senior Information Review and Release Analyst for the Fort Meade, MD area to support an Intelligence Community component.

You will conduct first-level review of classified documents, apply EO 13526/FOIA/PA redactions, and document decisions in the appropriate system, ensuring accuracy and consistency in releases.

Qualifications

• Must have prior experience conducting first-level reviews of classified documents and making redaction/release recommendations.
• Significant knowledge of information security policy, IC, and DoD classification rules.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with poly required on day one of employment.

Overview

Byte Systems, a subsidiary of VTG, is seeking an Information Review and Release Analyst (Senior) in the Fort Meade, MD area in support of a dynamic Intelligence Community component.

What will you do?

The position requires an individual to thoroughly research the substance and overall context of select documents, conduct first-level review of classified information and make the appropriate redactions-electronically and/or manually- based on the criteria of Executive Order (EO) 13526, the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the Privacy Act (PA). The candidate must be able to successfully apply critical-thinking skills when evaluating each case, and when utilizing the broad array of customer systems and tools in order to accurately inform the review and release process.

The individual will provide the rationale for redactions using legally defined exemption codes; provide recommendations for release of the documents; and record decisions in the appropriate system. Research of previous release decisions is required to ensure accuracy and consistency in our recommendations. Analysts in this role identify Other Government Agency (OGA) equities involved in the case and ensure that they are prepared for referral or coordination.

• Prior experience providing first-level review of classified documents and making recommendations for redaction and/or release of information for our client.
• Significant historical knowledge of client policies related to information security and classification; understanding of client missions and organization; familiarity with client, IC, and DoD policies and regulations related to information security and classification is required.
• Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Poly on day one of employment.
