University Health & Rehabilitation Center in Durham, NC, seeks a Staff Development Coordinator (SDC)/Infection Preventionist, RN. The role oversees orientation and ongoing education for nursing staff and drives the center's Infection Prevention and Control Program in compliance with CDC, CMS, OSHA guidelines.

The SDC coordinating training, audits, vaccine programs, and records management, while collaborating with staff across disciplines to ensure safe resident care.

Formación

• Active unencumbered RN licensure in NC preferred.
• LPN may be considered based on experience.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with strong focus on teamwork and collaboration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, implement, direct, and coordinate the Infection Prevention and Control Program.
• Conduct compliance audits; provide supervision and training as necessary.
• Implement action plans to resolve deficient practices.
• Perform infection control rounds and record findings.
• Collect and analyze infection surveillance data for patients and staff.
• Ensure transmission-based precautions are initiated and communicated.
• Coordinate vaccine programs for patients and staff.
• Conduct, attend, and participate in orientation and in-service programs.
• Perform other duties to provide exceptional resident care.
• Plan orientation for new employees.
• Schedule educational in-services per standards.
• Maintain OSHA, medical, and education records.
• Validate competency for nursing personnel on hire and annually.
• Validate medication pass and treatment observations.
• Coordinate CPR certifications for licensed staff.
• Monitor Relias education requirements.
• Develop in-service programs to address staff gaps.
• Ensure education is available on all shifts and maintain records.
• Collaborate with outside vendors for training needs.
