Job summary

Temple Health – Temple University Health System in Philadelphia seeks an Infection Preventionist to identify, investigate, and monitor healthcare-associated infections, and ensure compliance with CDC, NHSN, TJC, and OSHA standards.

The IP will lead education on PPE and disease prevention, collaborate with stakeholders, participate in outbreak investigations, and support regulatory activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Medical Technology, Nursing or healthcare related field is required.
• Master's Degree in Public Health is required.
• 2 years as an RN in an acute care setting (Required).
• 2 years as an MT in clinical microbiology (Required).
• General Experience in MPH in related area (Required).

Responsibilities

• Identify, investigate and monitor healthcare-associated infections.
• Participate in regulatory activities to ensure compliance with CDC, DOH, NHSN, TJC, and OSHA standards.
• Educate on infection prevention practices such as PPE use and disease prevention.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to prevent hospital-associated infections and control spread of pathogens.
• Assist with outbreak investigations as needed.
