Job summary

Penn Medicine Doylestown Health is seeking an Infection Prevention Coordinator to identify, investigate, monitor, and report healthcare-associated infections. The IP collaborates with hospital teams to implement infection prevention strategies and sustain prevention efforts across departments.

This role educates staff and the community, participates in hospital committees, and ensures compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA, Leapfrog, and state health regulations.

Qualifications

• RN graduate from accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor's Degree BSN or a microbiologist.
• Attendance at Infection Prevention Training Course.
• Active APIC member within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Implement and educate on initiatives to reduce the risk of patient and associates from acquiring infections.
• Develop and review hospital-wide infection prevention policies and educate on them.
• Create an annual surveillance plan based on risk assessment and services provided.
• Collaborate with Occupational Health to review policies for hospital associates.
• Conduct surveillance to monitor infections and report findings to committees and leadership.
• Provide infection prevention education to medical staff, clinical and non-clinical associates, and community members.
• Coordinate with unit Educators to promote evidence-based infection prevention practices.
